Description

The bazelmod resource reads and writes the version of one dependency in a MODULE.bazel file, the bazel_dep entries of Bzlmod:

bazel_dep(name = "rules_python", version = "0.27.0")
bazel_dep(name = "gazelle", version = "0.35.0")

source: Returns the version currently pinned for module.
condition: Checks that the file pins the expected version.
target: Updates that version. A file already holding it is left untouched.

It is the local half of the pair: bazelregistry finds the version available upstream, bazelmod writes it into your repository.

Description

The csv resource reads and writes a single cell in a CSV file. Rows are addressed by index and columns by header name through a Dasel selector, so .[0].firstname is the firstname column of the first data row.

source: Reads one cell out of one file. Only a single file is accepted.
condition: Compares the cell to value, or to the source output when value is unset.
target: Writes the value into the cell. Files already holding it are reported as up to date and left untouched.

Reading a value with a source

A source takes exactly one file. More than one entry in files fails with the attributes 'spec.files' can’t contain more than one element for sources, and an empty spec with no dockerfile specified.

stage narrows the search to one named build stage; without it the last stage is used, which the report states explicitly:

source: Returns the branch matching versionfilter (typically the highest release/x.y).
condition: Tests that a matching branch exists.

Description

The gittag resource works with the tags of a git repository directly, over the git protocol (no forge API involved, so it works with any host).

source: Returns the tag matching versionfilter, or its hash when key: hash.
condition: Tests that a matching tag exists. With tag set, the check is an exact match instead of a pattern match.
target: Creates the tag when no matching one exists. This is the one resource in this family that writes to a repository.

Description

The golang/gomod resource reads and writes a version inside a go.mod file. It works in two modes depending on whether module is set:

module unset: The Go language version - the go directive.
module set: The version of that dependency in the require block.
source: Returns the version found.
condition: Checks that the file records the expected version.
target: Writes the version. A file already holding it is reported as go.mod already set Golang version to "x" (or go.mod already has Module "m" set to version "v") and left untouched.

Description

The hcl resource reads and writes a single attribute in an HCL document, addressed by its dotted path. It handles any HCL file (Terraform, Packer, Consul, Nomad) through hcledit, which edits the file in place and preserves comments and formatting.

condition: Checks that the attribute holds value, or the source output when value is unset.
target: Writes the value at that path. Files already holding it are reported as up to date and left untouched.
